Thursday, 7 May 2009 -- I setup a lab in my parent's over-sized unfinished basement a few days ago. I changed the wall plug and adjusted the turns ratio of the main inductors in the bench dual-power supply that I bought on eBay from Europe. I've been using an ancient oscilloscope and my father's old soldering iron and analog battery-powered multimeter.
I spent the majority of the last two days in my basement lab avoiding the rare beautiful weather. Today, I was accompanied by Alexandria Brodeur (who still needs to work on her website). She took over a keyboard that I'd begun working on while I spent most my time organizing and reorganizing the lab until my inherited OCD was satisfied. I taught Allie some electrical engineering and helped her solder for the first time, but it was quickly clear that she needed no help or motivation. She was off and running like an autistic audiolophile. I managed to make some headway on several new mini-projects before heading out to Somerville to jam with 345 Beacon. Of course I got home again at midnight and circuit bent for another four hours - now the birds are coming up and I'm designing this website.
